Ice Stone Recycled Counter tops is made from recycled waste glass, Portland Cement and non-toxic pigments in the Brooklyn Navy Yard

Icestone is a sustainable and responsibly made counter top made of recycled glass, Portland cement and non-toxic pigments. It is made in the United States, is free of petrochemicals and plastics, is scratch and UV resistant and comes with a 10 year warranty. Co-founders Miranda Magagnani and Peter  Strugatz  wanted to use waste glass and repurpose it into something beautiful and usable.  Their story is great.  They began with capitol from angel investors; Ben & Jerry’s, Odwall, Tweezerman and Stoneyfield Farm and set up shop in the historic Brooklyn Navy Yard.  Since it’s inception in 2003, they’ve diverted over 13 million pounds of glass from landfills and given employees part ownership in the company.
