St. Charles Kitchens lays claim to having Frank Lloyd Wright use their cabinetry in the Falling Water residence in Pennsylvania. Started as The St. Charles Manufacturing Company in St. Charles, Illinois, they fact became a leader in the kitchen cabinet business. World War II waylaid their business as they turned their facility over to producing defense equipment for the war effort. Returning to cabinetry after the war, they were the first to introduce built in appliances within the cabinetry design.
Today, St. Charles boasts a high end line of meticulously crafted kitchen cabinetry. The company, now St. Charles of New York, is based in the Architects & Designers Building and is accessible through the Trade (kitchen designers, interior designers or architects) only.
